When you think of Dermal Fillers you usually think of them as volume replacement or wrinkle reducing products. These treatments are predominantly carried out in the face, however, medical aesthetics has now advanced and we can use these products in other areas of the body, one place of which is the feet.
As the fashion world develops different styles of shoes are designed, many of which have a very high heel. As our heel heights become higher and higher the balls of our feet take more load causing aching or burning pain.
Filler is injected into the ball of the foot in precise areas to provide cushioning when wearing high heeled shoes. The treatment is done with minimal discomfort due to local anaesthetic being used first.
Once injected into the foot the filler can last from 3-12 months depending on how much wear and tear your feet are subjected to.
Those who have had the treatment say ' they are walking on pillows' and they feel 'pain free'.
It is important to remember that your foot cushion will produce a temporary effect which wears off gradually. It will not suddenly 'stop' working. Therefore you may see a gradual lessening of the effect as time goes by.
